In 1958, Jane and Steve were on a date in Steve's convertible when they witnessed a meteor crash-landing on Earth. Driving out towards the area, they found an old man in the road, whose arm was covered with a strange viscous substance that was causing him intense pain. Jane and Steve took the man to see Doctor T. Hallen. The substance consumed the old man entirely, and began to grow, turning into a massive alien blob that absorbed everything it came into contact with.
Jane stayed close to Steve and accompanied him to several different locales to escape the blob including the Colonial Theater, Jerry's Market, and the Downingtown Diner.
