Jamison Collins' bedroom is a fictional location featured on the day time Gothic soap opera Dark Shadows. It is associated with the character of Jamison Collins and is connected to a storyline colloquially known as the "1897 Flashback".
Description[]
This is a furnished bedroom located on one of the upper floors at the Great House at Collinwood in Collinsport, Maine. During the 19th century, it was the bedroom of twelve-year-old Jamison Collins. In the year 1897, Jamison was temporarily possessed by the spirit of a warlock known as Count Andreas Petofi.
One evening, Jamison (under Petofi's influence), sat at a gaming table in the room and played cards with the house's maidservant, Beth Chavez. Beth took note of the the black gloves that Jamison always wore, and his refusal to remove them. Nervous, she indicated how much he seemed to enjoy getting people to notice him and that his recent behavior made people nervous. Jamison told Beth how much he liked her, and gave her a kiss on the cheek. Knowing that Beth was under the thrall of a vampire relative named Barnabas Collins, he then instructed her to go to his bedroom window to see if "he" was summoning her.
Jamison's father, Edward, recognizing his son's strange behavior, summoned Doctor Brooks to come to the house and examine him. Jamison felt that the entire experience was a waste of his time citing, "He's not a very good doctor. He examined me for nearly an hour, and didn’t notice that I only had one hand." [1]
