Biography[]
Jackson Ward was a serial killer born in the year 1928. He was captured and sentenced to prison at Alcatraz Island where he was executed in the year 1963. His spirit however, lived on, and haunted the cell block where he had spent the last years of his life.
By the late 1990s, Alcatraz had ceased to function as a prison and had since become a popular tourist attraction. A soul collector known as Charon visited Jackson's angry spirit and told him that he could live again by possessing the bodies of the living. Jackson took possession of a tour guide and used him to leave Alcatraz. He then sought revenge against those responsible for his incarceration and subsequent execution. His actions did not go unnoticed however. Phoebe Halliwell, a witch, witnessed Jackson's spirit take possession of the tour guide and leave Alcatraz. Once he arrived on the mainland, Jackson claimed his first victim - the son of the district attorney who prosecuted him during his trial. His next victim was the judge who presided over his trial, the honorable Judge Renault. Jackson strangled Renault then stabbed him to death.
Phoebe Halliwell told her sisters (also witches) about the murderous spirit and they consulted their mystic tome The Book of Shadows in the hopes of finding a solution. They discovered a spell that could banish the spirit, but it could only be spoken by a ghost. Prudence Halliwell prepared a death potion and elected to use it on herself so that her spirit could then combat Jackson Ward. Once her spirit abandoned her corporeal form, Prue spoke the words to the spell and Jackson Ward's spirit ceased to exist. Her own ghost returned to her body and her lover, Detective Andy Trudeau, was successfully able to revive her. [1]
