Description[]

The Invisible Hand is the name attributed to a Providence-class dreadnought capital ship. It was commanded by General Grievous of the Confederacy of Independent Systems and was developed by the Free Dac Volunteers Engineering Corps. It was pressed into service during the Clone Wars.

The ship had a total length of 1,088 miles and an atmospheric speed of 2,000 kph. It required a crew of B1 battle droids to pilot it. Its weaponry included 14 quad turbolasers, 12 ion cannons, 2 heavy ion cannons, and 102 proton torpedo launchers.

History[]

During the Battle of Coruscant, General Grievous, and his superior, Count Dooku, had "captured" Chancellor Palpatine and brought him aboard the Invisible Hand. Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker were dispatched to rescue him. As other ships from the Grand Army of the Republic swarmed about the vessel attacking it, Kenobi and Skywalker got on board, along with R2-D2. They found the chancellor, and Skywalker defeated Dooku in combat, killing him. [1]

When Skywalker, Kenobi and the chancellor got to the bridge of the ship, General Grievous decided to sabotage his own vessel and escape in an escape pod. Skywalker was forced to make an emergency landing on the planet's surface. [1]
