Invasion of the Animal People is an independent American and Swedish co-produced feature film blending elements of the science fiction and horror genres. It was directed by Virgil W. Vogel with a screenplay written by Arthur C. Pierce, based on a story treatment by Pierce. It was produced by Fortunafilm and Gustaf Unger Films. It premiered in Sweden on August 19th, 1959. An extended version was screened in the United States in May, 1962.
