"The Last Wave Goodbye" is the twenty-second episode of the science fiction television series Invasion and the final episode of the series. It was directed by Lawrence Trilling with a script written by Charlie Craig. It first aired on ABC on Wednesday, May 17th, 2006 at 10:00 pm. In this episode, its hurricane madness once again and the National Guard are called in to Homestead. Unfortunately, most of them are alien hybrids, who are rounding up all of the pregnant mothers who are ready to give birth. Russell Varon and Tom Underlay work together to rescue the hostages, and Larkin Groves suffers a major injury, which forces Tom to take drastic measures.

  • This episode is production code number 122.
  • This is the only episode of the series where Michael Goi works as a co-cinematographer along with Jeff Jur, who is the director of photography on all previous episodes.
  • This episode ends on a cliffhanger, leaving the final fate of Larkin Groves unknown. As the series was not renewed for a second season, it is unclear whether she died from her injuries, or if Tom was able to replicate her as a hybrid host by taking her to the water.
  • The infamous stock audio clip known as the "Wilhelm Scream" can be heard in this episode. It can be heard as a man is pushed off the side of the pier.
