Interview with the Vampire is an American novel of the supernatural fantasy genre, blending elements of romance and period history into its narrative. It was written by Anne Rice and is the first book in what would later become known as The Vampire Chronicles. It was first published in hardcover edition by Knopf, which is a New York based publishing house founded by Alfred A. Knopf, Jr. in 1915.
