The Intel Corporation is a fictional business corporation featured in the 1960s sci-fi series A for Andromeda. It first appeared in the third episode of the series, "The Miracle".
History[]
The Intel Corporation was a European business that existed in the early 1970s. It took a measured interest in research taking place at a military research facility in Thorness, Scotland. One of Intel's representatives, Kaufmann, had an agent on the inside - a man named Dennis Bridger. Bridger fed Kaufmann knowledge about the team's construction of a supercomputer based upon designs that originated within the Andromeda Galaxy. [1]
Although the original computer was destroyed by Doctor John Fleming, Intel managed to acquirre enough information to develop a second supercomputer. They began construction of their own computer in the newly-independent Middle Eastern country of Azaran. [2]
