Insidious: Chapter Three is an American feature film of the supernatural thriller genre. It is the third installment in the Insidious film series, but is actually a prequel, taking place a few years prior to the events of the first Insidious. The movie was written and directed by Leigh Whannell and produced Blumhouse Productions in association with Stage 6 Films and Gramercy Pictures and Entertainment One. It was released theatrically in the United States on June 5th, 2015. The movie sees the return of Lin Shaye as veteran psychic Elise Rainier, along with her sidekicks Tucker & Specs, once again played by Angus Sampson and Leigh Whannell. The main character of the film however is actually Stefanie Scott as teenager Quinn Brenner, who inadvertently makes contact with malevolent forces that pursue her, even after she survives being struck by an oncoming vehicle. Insidious: Chapter 3 co-stars Dermot Mulroney as Quinn's father, Sean Brenner, Tate Berney as brother Alex Brenner, and Hayley Kiyoko as Quinn's friend, Maggie.
