Notes & Trivia[]
- The Hulk was created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby. He first appeared in Incredible Hulk #1 in May, 1962 in a story titled "The Coming of the Hulk".
- This issue is rated Marvel PG.
- This issue shipped in both direct market edition and newsstand edition.
- This issue is Legacy number 511.
- This issue is reprinted in the Incredible Hulk: Return of the Monster trade paperback collection, released in July, 2002.
- This is the twenty-sixth issue of the series under its current title. The first eleven issues of the series were titled as just Hulk.
- The title of this issue is taken from the first line from the song "As Time Goes By" by Frank Sinatra. The full lyric is "You must remember this: A kiss is still a kiss, A sigh is just a sigh. The fundamental things apply. As time goes by".
- The poem that Sandy Verdugo quotes is from "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" by Robert Frost. The full poem is as follows:
- Whose woods these are I think I know.
- His house is in the village though;
- He will not see me stopping here
- To watch his woods fill up with snow.
- My little horse must think it queer
- To stop without a farmhouse near
- Between the woods and frozen lake
- The darkest evening of the year.
- He gives his harness bells a shake
- To ask if there is some mistake.
- The only other sound’s the sweep
- Of easy wind and downy flake.
- The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
- But I have promises to keep,
- And miles to go before I sleep,
- And miles to go before I sleep.
- Primarily, only Bruce Banner appears in this issue. The Hulk makes a behind-the-scenes appearance as evident by the wreckage of the automobile, but Bruce is never shown actually transforming into the Hulk. The Hulk does appear in flashback however in Leonard Samson's memories.
