Notes & Trivia[]
- The Hulk was created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby. He first appeared in Incredible Hulk #1 in May, 1962 in a story titled "The Coming of the Hulk".
- This issue is reprinted in the Rocket Raccoon & Groot: The Complete Collection trade paperback edition, the Rocket Raccoon: Guardian of the Keystone Quadrant hardcover collection, and the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Team-Up trade paperback collection.
- None of the creators listed for this issue are designated by their job function.
- This issue celebrates twenty years of the Incredible Hulk, since his very first appearance in Incredible Hulk, Volume 1 #1 back in May, 1962. He won't have another such double-decade anniversary until Incredible Hulk, Volume 3 #38 in May, 2002.
- This is the first appearance of Rocket Raccoon and his fellow supporting cast, the Halfworlders. They are explored in greater detail when Rocket receives his own four-issue Rocket Raccoon limited series in 1985.
- The Hulk appears as the Hulk only in this issue; no Bruce Banner appearances in either the main story or in flashback.
- The character of Rocket Raccoon, the inclusion of Gideon's Bible, and even the title of this issue are heavily derived from the song "Rocky Raccoon" by The Beatles which appeared on their 1968 self-titled album, colloquially referred to as "The White Album".
