The character was played by actor Dick Durock though its voice was provided by Patrick Macnee. It first appeared in the three-part pilot movie, "Saga of a Star World". There were actually two characters that held the title of Imperious Leader in Battlestar Galactica. The first was destroyed aboard the Cylon Basestar in "Saga of a Star World (Part 3)". He was replaced by a second Imperious Leader, who made sporadic appearances throughout the show.
Overview[]
The Imperious Leader was the highest authoritative figure of the Cylon Empire. A Cylon himself, the Imperious Leader was capable of independent thought and maintained complete control over his lower robotic subordinates. The Imperious Leader usually remained within his throne room aboard a Cylon Basestar and rarely left the ship. This particular Cylon was of an unknown model and wore a red robe with a dark hairpiece. It's facial construction bore a similarity to that of the original Cylon aliens who were first responsible for the creation of the Cylons.
