Description[]
The Devastator was an I-class Star Destroyer used by the Imperial Navy of the Galactic Empire. It was one of the capital ships deployed during the early years of the Galactic Civil War and was the personal ship of Sith Lord Darth Vader. In 0 BBY, Vader and the 501st Legion took the Devastator to the Tatoo system in pursuit of a Corellian Corvette known as the Tantive IV. Although the Tantive IV was acting as a consular ship on a diplomatic mission, Vader knew that it was actually ferrying key members of the Rebel Alliance to the planet Alderaan. The Devastator overtook the Tantive IV outside of the orbit of the planet Tatooine and Vader personally led the 501st on a boarding party. After killing the Rebel crew, they captured Princess Leia Organa and brought her on board the Devastator for transport to their new space station the Death Star. [3]
