The Imperial Army is a fictional military organization featured in the Star Wars multimedia franchise. They first appeared in the 1977 feature film Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, which was originally known as just Star Wars at the time of its initial release.
The Imperial Army is one of the major armed divisions of the First Galactic Empire. They are the armed combat support personnel of the Imperial military, and also maintain various outposts, battle stations and planetary military stations. The Imperial Army officiates all land area and surface combat campaigns on behalf of the Empire. They routinely use armored siege weapons and equipment such as the All Terrain Armored Transport and All Terrain Armored Cargo Transport as well as the All Terrain Scout Transport vehicles.
