Hudson University sounds like a real place, doesn't it? Well, HA! Joke's on you, because it isn't. It is a fictional learning center featured in media produced and/or published by DC Comics. In the old days, it was associated with the Batman line of titles and was where Dick Grayson spent some time as a student, after he had semi-retired his sidekick gig as Robin. It first appeared simultaneously in Batman #217 and Detective Comics #394, both of which were published in December, 1969.
An applied sciences division of Hudson University made appearances on The Flash television series in 2014, which was located in the fictional locale of Central City. It first appeared in the season one episode, "Revenge of the Rogues". This was where Jason Rusch and Professor Martin Stein worked on an 800-page research paper for the F.I.R.E.S.T.O.R.M. project.
One of the teachers at Hudson University, Lindsay Kang, was leaving work one night when she was trapped and killed by a swarm of poisonous robotic bees in the parking lot of the school. The bees were created by Kang's old colleague from Mercury Labs, Brie Larvan.

- In its early appearance, the location of Hudson University was left ambiguous, which was common for many DC Comics locations, though it could be reasonably assumed that it was located in the state of New York. The roleplaying supplement Atlas of the DC Universe, it was established that Hudson University was located in the fictional city of New Carthage.
- Clark Kent was once pondering whether to accept an offer to attend Hudson University, but he eventually chose Metropolis University in Metropolis.
- In the WildStorm Universe, Betty Rowan teaches Metaphysics 204 at Hudson University.
- Actress Alicia Chowen played a student at Hudson University in the "All Star Team Up" episode of The Flash.
