"Howard the Barbarian" is the first issue of the first Howard the Duck ongoing comic book series published by Marvel Comics. - Howard the Duck was created by writer Steve Gerber and artist Val Mayerik. He first made his cameo introductory appearance in Adventure Into Fear #19 in December, 1973, which featured the Man-Thing. Howard would go on to star in his own Howard the Duck ongoing series, as well as numerous follow-up titles as well as a short-lived black and white illustrated magazine series. He is featured in the 1986 live-action feature film Howard the Duck, where he is played by actor Ed Gale. Howard would eventually make an appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014, where he is voiced by Seth Green.
