Hoshi Sato is a fictional space exploration officer featured in the Star Trek television and film franchise. He was a recurring supporting character on the 2001-2005 sci-fi series, Star Trek: Enterprise. Played by actress Linda Park, she was introduced in the show's two-part pilot episode "Broken Bow", and appeared in all 98 episodes of the program in total. Hoshi Sato was an officer for Starfleet holding the NCO rank of Ensign. She served as the Communications Officer of the Enterprise NX-01 under the command of Captain Jonathan Archer from 2151 to 2161. In addition to her ability to interpret subspace frequencies, Ensign Sato was a gifted linguist and served as the ship's translator - a role that became of vital use when establishing First Contact with alien races. Though highly intelligent, Sato is short on self confidence and often relies upon her peers to remind her of her importance to the crew and it's missions.
