Biography[]
Original history[]
Ho Yinsen was an elderly scientist of Asian descent. He was from the country of Vietnam and was a professor. During the Vietnam War, Professor Yinsen was captured by a warlord named Wong-Chu and forced to work as an assistant to captured American entrepreneur Tony Stark. Yinsen and Stark were to construct a super-weapon that Wong-Chu could use to give his side a decisive victory in the war. Both men knew that as soon as they were completed their work, they would be executed. Rather than constructing a weapon for Wong-Chu, the two use the materials provided for them to create a rudimentary suit of armor, which they intended on using to facilitate their escape. Yinsen knew that only one of them would possibly survive this debacle, so he elected to sacrifice himself by running about shouting "Death to Wong-Chu!", thus giving Stark enough time to don the completed armor. Ho Yinsen was shot down by Wong-Chu's thugs and died. [4]
Updated modern history[]
Ho Yinsen was captured by Afghani terrorists and taken to a cave where he was made to work with captured American industrialist Tony Stark in order to fabricate a weapon of mass destruction. Stark had been injured in a land mine explosion and now had a piece of shrapnel embedded in his chest that was moving dangerously close to his heart. Stark and Yinsen managed to cobble together a chest plate, which would act as a magnetic field, preventing the shrapnel from moving any closer to his heart.
