Hirsoshima is a city in the country of Japan. It is the capital of Hiroshima Prefecture and is located on the island of Honshu. Hiroshima has gained historical notoriety for being the first of two Japanese cities that were targeted by Allied forces during World War II. On August 6th, 1945, The United States Army sent the Boeing B-29 Superfortress bomber, The Enola Gay to drop an atomic bomb on Hiroshima.
Hiroshima was the primary setting for the 1965 creature feature Frankenstein Conquers the World, which dealt with doctors working at the Hiroshima International Institute of Radiotherapentics, treating patients affected by radiation exposure in the wake of the bomb attack. Ambient radiation is partially attributed to the progressive growth and regenerative capabilities of the Frankenstein Monster, who possessed the ability to grow an entire human body from just a disembodied living heart.
