The High Guard is a fictional military detachment featured in the science fiction television series Andromeda. They are considered the elite fighting unit of the old Systems Commonwealth and are the first line of defense against intergalactic threats. Captain Dylan Hunt of the Andromeda Ascendant was a member of the High Guard as well as his turncoat first officer Gaheris Rhade. When Dylan Hunt attempted to rebuild the Systems Commonwealth in CY 10087, he tried reigniting the values of the High Guard.
