Biography[]
Herman Miranda was a middle-aged man who was in his apparent early fifties in the late 1980s. He was married to Lilly Miranda and together the purchased Camp Rolling Hills, which had been shut down in 1988 following a mass murder perpetuated by deranged camp counselor Angela Baker. Herman and Lilly rebranded the site as Camp New Horizons and re-opened it the following year. The Mirandas invited a news crew out to the site to promote it under its new name and new initiative, which focused on bringing in campers from different walks of life for an "experiment in sharing". Lilly tried to keep knowledge of the campground's notorious history away from public knowledge as much as possible.
Unbeknownst to his wife, Herman began carrying on an affair with one of the regulars at the camp site - an underage girl named Jan Hernandez. When the campers were separated into different squads, Herman made sure to take charge of the group that Jan was in.
Angela Baker, using an assumed name, infiltrated the camp as one of the counselors, and the nightmare of murder continued once again. Angela caught Herman after he had finished having sex with Jan and attacked him. She beat him with a broken log, which she then smashed into his face, killing him. She then killed Jan moments later.
