Henry Allen is a fictional recurring character featured in the CW Network television series The Flash. He was played by actor John Wesley Shipp.
Overview[]
Henry Allen was the husband of Nora Allen and the father of Barry Allen. He was wrongfully accused of murdering his wife and spent fifteen years in prison. It wasn't until the true murderer, the futuristic speedster, Eobard Thawne, left a videotape confession that Henry was finally exonerated.

- The character of Henry Allen was created by series developers Andrew Kreisberg, Greg Berlanti and Geoff Johns based on concepts originally developed by John Broome and Carmine Infantino.
- This is the second live-action iteration of Henry Allen. In the original 1990 Flash television series, Henry Allen appeared in the two-part pilot episode where he was played by actor M. Emmet Walsh.
- Actor John Wesley Shipp also played the original Barry Allen from the 1990 Flash television series.
- Henry Allen is based on a DC Comics character that first appeared in The Flash #126 in February, 1962.
