Ann O'Brien has Akiko Oki order up a large volume of fruits and vegetables for the hungry "Monkeyman". She brings the ape to her father's library and hands him some books. Initially, she thinks that he is simply showing animal amusement at the texts, but then Monkeyman pulls out a pair of spectacles and begins reading them in earnest. After spending a week in the library, absorbing everything he can, Monkeyman finally gets some rest. The following morning, Ann finds Monkeyman in the dining hall. She notes that both the ape and herself now have strange orange-colored eyes. Monkeyman turns and shows full articulation as he introduces himself as Axwell Tiberius. He asks Ann about the location of his homing device, as he is very anxious to return to his home dimension.
