Biography[]
Helen Brucker was a demon who had assumed human form and worked as a state senator from California. An unscrupulous woman by nature, she believed in doing just about anything to increase her power base, including consorting with demons and vampires. Her trusted aide, Ernesto, was in fact a vampire himself. Senator Brucker hired the law firm of Wolfram & Hart in the hopes that they could use their supernatural resources to brainwash a political rival, Mike Conley, into believing that he was a pedophile, thus costing him the election. Charles Gunn was outraged by such a notion, but his employer, Angel took the matter under consideration (This was really just a feint on Angel's part as he was pretending to have been compromised in order to infiltrate the Circle of the Black Thorn).
When Team Angel went to kill every member of the Circle of the Black Thorn, Charles Gunn was given the job of killing the senator. Gunn stormed into her campaign headquarters, dusting several of her vampires and then killing her by throwing an axe into her head while she was in the midst of her interview.
