Hela is a fictional goddess featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. She is associated with the Thor family of comic titles and first appeared in Journey Into Mystery #102 in March, 1964. Hela appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the 2017 feature film Thor: Ragnarok, where she was played by actress Cate Blanchett. Hela is the first major female super-villain to appear in the movie side of the greater MCU.
