Notes & Trivia[]
- This episode has been made available on the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Season One, Vol. 1 and He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: The Complete First Season DVD collections.
- This is actually the first episode of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, but was the fourth episode aired in production. It appears as the first episode on all home video releases of the series.
- This is the first appearance of Mer-Man on the series.
Allusions[]
- He-Man closes the episode with a morality lesson, explaining how Skeletor attempted to accomplish his goals by taking the easy way out. He punctuates this by saying that there is a catch with every loophole.
Bloopers[]
- Logistically, Trap Jaw should not have been able to bite through Teela's weapon, much less swallow it. Although his lower jaw is made of steel, his upper jaw is wholly organic. However, this could be explained away by the fact that Trap Jaw is clearly of a non-human race, perhaps one whose physical attributes are greater than that of the average human.
- He-Man refers to Teela's vehicle as a Battle Ram. She is actually piloting a War-Sled, similar to the one piloted by Tri-Klops. A Battle Ram is a land-based siege vehicle, functionally similar to a tank.
