Biography[]
Golden Age[]
Hath-Set was a "false" priest in ancient Egypt during the reign of Prince Khufu. Hath-Set sought to usurp the throne from Khufu and had his slave Kolar attempt to kill him. Khufu fought back and managed to escape and led a war against Hath-Set's loyalists. One of Hath-Set's men managed to injure Khufu with an arrow, but ultimately, the prince proved victorious, stabbing Khufu through the chest. Watching him die, Khufu declared that both Hath-Set and he would be reincarnated to do battle once again.
This prediction proved true, for Hath-Set was reborn centuries later and took up the alias of Doctor Hastor. He sought to achieve global domination by way of an electrical dynamo, which he used to electrify the rails on a subway train. Prince Khufu meanwhile, had been resurrected as archaeologist Carter Hall. Hall had a dream wherein he relived his original battle with Hath-Set and knew his enemy was still at large. He forged himself a costume and set of wings made out of the mysterious ninth metal and took on the costumed guise of Hawkman.
Hath-Set meanwhile, found Shiera Sanders, who was the reincarnation of the Khufu's love, Princess Shiera. He hypnotized her and planned to sacrifice her at the Attar of Myrrh. Hawkman tracked Hath-Set to his laboratory lair and freed Shiera. He shot Hath-Set with a crossbow, seemingly killing him, but Hath-Set would later be reborn. [1]
