Harris was an electric line worker who had worked with Maxwell Dillon. One day, while on the job, Harris got into some trouble while working on a high tension pole. His boss pleaded with Maxwell Dillon to help him, but Dillon refused unless the boss agreed to give him a bonus. Desperate, the man agreed and gave Dillon an extra one-hundred dollars. Dillon ascended the pole and brought the unconscious lineman down. Just then, Max was struck by a powerful lightning bolt. Rather than kill him however, it granted him fantastic powers and he became a costumed super-villain named Electro. (Amazing Spider-Man 9)
