Biography[]
Notes & Trivia[]
- The character of Harold Hockett was created by director Steve Miner and screenwriters Martin Kitrosser and Carol Watson.
- Harold Hockett is the tenth murder victim of Jason Voorhees (in the film series anyway).
- Playing the role of Harold Hockett is Steve Susskind's first credited film work.
- Jason Voorhees took one of Harold's shirts from his clothes line. He wears this shirt throughout the film, and also in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. It is also the same shirt that he is buried in as seen in Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives. It is sad to think that Harold's shirt had more longevity and impact on the Friday the 13th mythos than poor Harold himself.
- Harold Hockett is the third character in the Friday the 13th film series to speak to an animal as if it were a human being. The first was Annie Phillips in Friday the 13th, who spoke to a dog at a gas station at the beginning of the film. The second was Scott who talked to Muffin and even danced with it, as part of some strange attempt to woo Muffin's owner, Terri.
- Harold was a coward by nature. As a teenager he earned the nickname "Hockett the Rocket" while playing football; not because he was innately fast, but because he was always running at top speed to get away from the other players for fear of being hit. As a younger man, he received his draft card to go to Vietnam, which proved to be the most terrifying experience of his life. Fortunately for him, the U.S. began pulling troops out of the region before he would be able to go. [4]

- ↑ Edna Hockett was Harold's fishmonger of a wife. Yup, she's dead too. Didn't last too much longer than Harold, matter of fact.
- ↑ Friday the 13th Part 2 takes place five years after the events of the first Friday the 13th, which took place in June, 1979 according to Pamela Voorhees' tombstone. Friday the 13th Part 3 and Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter take place immediately following the events of the previous two films.
