Happy Death Day 2U is an American feature film of the paranormal thriller and science fiction genres. It was written and directed by Christopher Landon and is a sequel to the 2017 film Happy Death Day. The movie was produced by Blumhouse Productions and distributed through Universal Pictures. It was released theatrically in the United States on February 13th, 2019.
Jessica Rothe reprises the role of college student Theresa "Tree" Gelbman, who is once again caught in a time-loop, and thrown into the mystery surrounding a series of murders perpetuated by a baby-face masked killer. Whereas before Tree had to solve the mystery of her own repeating murder, now she has to prevent all of her friends from dying.
Many of the cast members from Happy Death Day return for the sequel including Israel Broussard as Carter Davis, Phi Vu as Ryan Phan, Rachel Matthews as Danielle Bouseman, Ruby Modine as Lori Spengler, Charles Aitken as Gregory Butler, and Laura Clifton as Stephanie Butler.
