Halliwell Manor is a fictional residence featured in the WB Network television series Charmed, which ran for eight seasons from 1998 to 2006. Halliwell Manor is one of the main settings for the show and is the home of the Halliwell sisters, which originally consisted of Prue Halliwell, Piper Halliwell and Phoebe Halliwell. Beginning with season four, lost sister Paige Matthews took up residence in the house as well.

Halliwell Manor is located at 1329 Prescott Street in San Francisco, California. The exterior shots used on the series are actually taken from a home located at 1329 Carroll Avenue in Los Angeles. [2]

In the original unaired pilot episode, Halliwell Manor was referred to as Warren Manor. [3] This is a reference to the character of Melinda Warren, who was the progenitor of the Warren family line of witches, from which the Halliwell sisters are descended. Beginning with the first official episode of the series, "Something Wicca This Way Comes", the residence is referred to as Halliwell Manor.

History[]

Halliwell Manor was first built in the year 1898. It was destroyed during the San Francisco earthquake in 1906, but was later rebuilt. [4]

From 1998 to 2001, Halliwell Manor was the home of the Charmed Ones; Prue Halliwell, Piper Halliwell and Phoebe Halliwell. Prue was murdered in 2001 and Piper and Phoebe found their "lost" sister Paige Matthews, who became one of the Charmed Ones and took up residence in the house. [5]

In 1998, warlock Jeremy Burns broke into Halliwell Manor and attempted to murder the Charmed Ones. The sisters called upon the Power of Three and succeeded in destroying him with a counter-spell. [6]

Points of Interest[]

Attic
This was where the Book of Shadows laid dormant up until 1998. The Halliwell sisters used a Ouija board, which directed them towards the attic, upon which they discovered the book and realized their potential as witches.
