Hadis is a fictional realm featured in comic books published by DC Comics. It is associated with the "Fourth World" mythos, and was first identified by name in Mister Miracle, Volume 3 #2 in May, 1996.
Description[]
Hadis is an extradimensional realm and an aspect of the Afterlife. It is where the souls of the New Gods go upon their deaths. Hadis is the realm of the Black Racer and is an unending battlefield. Thematically, it is similar to the realm of Valhalla as depicted in Norse mythology. The gates of Hadis are attended by a guardian named Enkar.
Avia of the New Gods, who was the wife of Highfather Izaya, was sent to Hadis after attempting to save her husband from being killed by Steppenwolf. [1]
When Big Barda died in battle, her soul went to Hadis. Her husband, Scott Free, had to accept power from the Source Wall to obtain Godhood in order to journey to Hadis to save her. [2]
