Hässlich refers to a race of supernatural creatures featured on the NBC television series Grimm. They are a subspecies of Wesen. Hässlich are troll-like creatures and were first represented in the series by the character of Hulda who appeared in the pilot episode.
Hulda[]
Hulda was an accountant from Boise, Idaho as well as a member of the supernatural community known as the Wesen. He was of a breed of troll-like creature known as a Hässlich, who also went by the name Mister Lindon. Aside from being an accountant, Hulda was a dangerous criminal wanted for charges of assault, rape and murder in Chicago, Illinois as well as Florida. As a Wesen, Hulda's chosen vocation was that of a Reaper of Grimms.
Armed with an ornate decorative Scythe, Hulda tracked an aging Grimm named Marie Kessler to the home of her nephew Nick Burkhardt in Portland, Oregon. He attacked Marie on the sidewalke and though the woman was dying of a terminal illness, she still had enough physical prowess to fight back. She fought back, stabbing Hulda in the back. Nick Burkhardt finished him off by firing several rounds from his firearm into his chest.
Nick brought Hulda's scythe to the Portland Police Bureau where they ran his prints and learned about his other identity and past crimes. [1]
