"Mystery of the Star Sapphire"[]
Green Lantern flies with Carol Ferris in his arms. Star Sapphire, having taken root in the body of Jillian Pearlman, pursues them. Carol tells him of the history of the Sapphire gemstone and the origin of the Zamoran warriors. Whereas Oan science is based on logic and stability, the power of the Star Sapphire is ruled by passion.
Hal gets Carol to a safe distance and takes a moment to catch his breath. Carol wants to help out any way she can, so Hal rings her up a green variant of her classic Star Sapphire costume. The two join forces and beat Sapphire into submission. Hal begins the process of exorcising the Sapphire's influence from Pearlman's body when suddenly a group of Zamoran warrior women appear from a portal behind them.

Lyssa Drak continues to tell Amon Sur tales from the Book of Parallax. She tells him of Karu-Sil of Graxos III. Karu-Sil grew up an orphan in a "jungle world of madness". While hunting for food, the young woman came upon a race of dangerous predatory animals. Rather than kill her however, the animals raised Karu-Sil as one of their own. As such, she developed their preternatural instinct and absence of morality. As an adult, Karu-Sil finally encountered another of her own species. She slew him and left his remains for her animal family to consume. A Green Lantern came to Graxos III and took Karu-Sil into his custody. He brought her to Graxos IV where she spent many years in an institution. Now she is free of her confines and has accepted membership in the Sinestro Corps.
