"The Spies Who 'Owned' Green Lantern!"[]
Carol Ferris convinces Hal Jordan to take her new secretary Betty Sloane out on a date at the Twist Age Club in order to make Betty's boyfriend jealous. That evening, Betty uses her yellow topaz pendant to hypnotize Hal Jordan. Betty is actually part of an international spy ring and manipulates Hal into selling state secrets. Once Hal realizes what is happening, he has to rely upon Tom Kalmaku to help him smash the spy ring. Removing the pendant breaks Betty's control over him. After re-charging his ring, Hal flies towards Oa so that the Guardians of the Universe can undo the hypnosis.
