"The Shark That Hunted Human Prey!" is the title of the first story featured in issue #24 of the second Green Lantern ongoing comic book series published by DC Comics. The story was written by John Broome with artwork by Gil Kane and inks by Joe Giella. It was lettered by Gaspar Saladino. The second story is called "The Strange World Named Green Lantern!" and is written by Broome, and illustrated by Gil Kane with inks by Frank Giacoia and Joe Giella. It was lettered by Gaspar Saladino. Both stories were edited by Julius Schwartz. This issue shipped with an October, 1963 cover date and carries a cover price of .12 cents per copy.

- The character of Hal Jordan, aka Green Lantern, was created by writer John Broome and artist Gil Kane. He first appeared in Showcase #22 in October, 1959 in a story titled "S.O.S. Green Lantern!" He received his first ongoing Green Lantern comic book series in August, 1960.
- This issue carries the approval stamp of the Comics Code Authority.
- This issue includes the "Green Lantern's Mail Chute" letters column.
- This issue includes a one-page "It's Hard to Believe, But--" feature.
- This issue includes a house-ad for Flash Annual #1, on sale on August 15th, 1963.
