- The Green Hornet was created by George W. Trendle and Fran Striker. It is based on the The Green Hornet radio dramatization produced by The Green Hornet, Inc., which began airing in Detroit, Michigan on station WXYZ in 1936. It was later released through the Mutual Broadcasting System, and then General Mills. The Green Hornet franchise has since been adapted into film serials, a 1960s television series, a 2011 feature film, and numerous comic book titles.
- This series is an adaptation of the The Green Hornet live-action television series, which starred Van Williams and Bruce Lee. The series aired on ABC from September 1966 to March 1967.
- The cover design for this issue is an altered photo image of actors Van Williams and Bruce Lee from the Green Hornet television series.
