Greece is a country located in Southern Europe and is officially known as the Hellenic Republic. The people, language and culture of Greece is referred to as Greek. Ancient Greece appears in many myths and stories, particularly those involving the pantheon of Greek Gods of Mount Olympus, which plays a major role in stories involving Wonder Woman.
In the original 1975 Wonder Woman television series, Queen Hippolyta originally hailed from Greece. Thousands of years ago, Hippolyta and her sisters were the slaves of men throughout Rome and Greece. When the Amazons shook off the shackles of slavery, Hippolyta led them to an island refuge deep in the Bermuda Triangle. She named this haven Paradise Island, and decreed that man would be forever forbidden to step foot on its shores.

- Nafplio is a seaport town in the Peloponnese in Greece that has expanded up the hillsides near the north end of the Argolic Gulf. The character of Emil Nikos was born in Nafplio. Nikos later became a laboratory assistant to Michael Morbius.
