The Grappler's rod is a fictional weapon featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. It is associated with the She-Hulk line of titles and first appeared in Savage She-Hulk #18 in July, 1981 in a story called "When Favors Come Due!"
The Grappler utilized a titanium steel rod, approximately three to four feet in length. With his knowledge of physics, he could use the rod to apply just the right amount of leverage to enable him to accomplish rather impressive feats, such as knocking over a vehicle. He even surprised the She-Hulk when he whacked her across the jaw with the rod. When she lunged at him in retaliation, he spoiled her jump by swinging the rod into her mid-section. While She-Hulk was momentarily distracted, Grappler used the rod to pry open the doors of an armored car. He then used the tensile strength of the rod, to whack She-Hulk against the mid-section yet again, sending her sprawling.
The head of the rod included a spherical cap, which could open up releasing a band of tightly wound steel coils. Grappler could eject the coils from the head of the rod; a strategy he employed to temporarily ensnare She-Hulk as they wrapped around her head. (Savage She-Hulk 18)
