Biography[]
Grant Cutter, Jr. was the son of Grant Cutter, Sr. of Norwich, Roanoake, Virginia and the wealthy heir of the Cutter family petroleum company. In 1956, Grant married a young woman named Michelle Temple and the two hired a small single-engine Grumman airplane to ferry them to Bermuda for their honeymoon. As one would expect from a man born to wealth and privelige, Grant felt that he was better than everybody else, and was particularly acerbic to the plane's co-pilot Francis Edward Brackett. Time traveler Sam Beckett leaped into the body of Eddie Brackett and discovered that Michelle Temple was fated to die from appendicitis unless they could get her to a hospital quickly. Grant questioned Sam (Eddie)'s medical skills through a stumbling haze of inebriation, but when Michelle's appendix burst, he pleaded with Sam to do everything he could to help her. Fortunately, Sam was able to keep Michelle's condition stabilized until they reached Bermuda. Despite his attitude towards Eddie on previous occasions, Grant was extremely grateful to the co-pilot for saving his bride's life. [2]
