- Jonathan Crane is based on a character featured in DC Comics. He is a costumed villain known as the Scarecrow and is a foe of Batman. He first appeared in World's Finest Comics #3 in the Fall of 1941. This is the second live-action appearance of the character. Actor Cillian Murphy played Jonathan Crane in the 2005 film Batman Begins.
