The Gonzalez Dam is a fictional structure featured on the AMC survival horror series Fear the Walking Dead. It was a central setting featured in season three and first appeared in the third episode of the season, "TEOTWAWKI".

History[]

The Gonzalez Dam is a dam and water treatment facility situated on the Tijuana River in Tijuana, Mexico. In the years following the zombie apocalypse, the dam became a vital strategic position for those seeking to control the river's water supply.

A survivor named Dante Esquivel took control of the dam, but was later killed by Daniel Salazar. Lola Guerrero, who had previously worked there as the dam's Chief Water Utility Officer, became the leader of the survivors at the dam. Control of the dam became a dangerous prospect between various survival groups. One group known as the Proctors of El Bazar staged an attack on the dam. Lola was shot in the back and then through the head by Proctor John. During this incident, Nick Clark acquired some C4 explosive and destroyed the dam, which allowed the river water to flow freely to neighboring communities.
