Go! Godman (行け!ゴッドマン) was a Japanese live-action children's program of the tokusatsu or, "suitmation", subgenre of giant monster fiction. It was produced by the Toho Company and ran from October 5th, 1972 to September 28th, 1973, spanning a total of twenty-six episodes. The show starred Kinichi Kusumi as the titular hero Godman, who was a costumed warrior from the planet Firegod. The show also featured Asato Tetsuya as Monster Uncle and Eri Tsuruma as Eri-chan. Each episode of the show featured a different giant monster, or "kaiju" suddenly appearing and threatening Japan. A bystander would invoke the name Godman, and Godman would come flying back to Earth to battle whatever creature was menacing the country that day of the week and defeat it.
It could be argued that this program is part of the greater Godzilla continuity, even though Godzilla had no direct connection to the series. However, several of Godman's foes were featured in Godzilla films including Sanda, Gaira, Gabara, Gorosaurus, and Kamoebas.
This series was succeeded by Ike! Greenman.
Individual episodes were divided between 3 to 6 parts. Separating episodes by segments, there was a total of 156 of the program.
