Giant
A giant is a mythological figure characterized by immense size and proportionate strength. They are often demonstrated as primeval, savage beings with a penchant for violance. Although giants have never existed as a race on the planet Earth, some humans have had the misfortune of being transformed into a "colossal beast" due to atomic radiation. Such was the case with Army officer Glenn Manning, who grew into a sixty-foot giant after being exposed to radiation from a plutonium bomb. Giants have also existed as an alien race, such as the giants found on the unnamed planet in the Land of the Giants television series. Giant monsters have also been used as a popular film trope, particularly in Japanese Tokusatsu films of the 1960s and 70s.
