Glarkians are a fictional alien race featured in comic books published by Action Lab Comics. They are associated with the Vampblade line of titles and first appeared in Vampblade Special #1.

Glarkians are a race of predatory disembodied energy who take the appearance of pink energy. They hail from the dimension known as Zar and are characterized as space vampires. Bonding with corporeal hosts, they have taken towards acts of aggression against the citizens of Earth.

Comic book store worker Katie Carva discovered the Vampblade artifacts, which allowed her to transform into a leather-clad monster slayer so she could then do battle against the Glarkians.

History[]

After having first transformed into Vampblade to deal with some murderous mobsters, Katie began to perceive the presence of the Glarkians, who had taken possession of two of the Comic Planet's customers. She instinctively hacked at them with the vampblades, which exorcised the parasitic entity, while leaving the host forms relatively intact. ^[1]

Following this incident, Katie was taken to the Detroit Medical Center. After feeling well enough to walk around, she stepped outside and found that the security guard posted outside her room was possessed by a Glarkian. She slew the entity and then heard the telepathic calling of the creatures, announcing their need to feed. She followed the call down into the basement, where she discovered a Glarkian nesting den. ^[2]

Katie Carva had to break into the Drumpf Tower during daylight hours. While there, she sneaked past several unsuspecting Glarkian security guards. After she go to the penthouse on the 69th floor, she had to do battle with the space vampire known as Lord Suck. ^[3]

In the fictionalized account of the Vamplade comics series from the 1990s, the Glarkians first manifested at a party being held in the penthouse of Drumpf Tower. A Go-Go dancer inherited the power of the Vampblades and fought against them, exorcising their essence from their human hosts. ^[4]
