Ginny Field's Volkswagen

Ginny Field's Volkswagen is fictional representation of an actual vehicle featured in the Friday the 13th film series. It appeared in the 1981 sequel, Friday the 13th Part 2.

The character of Ginny Field drove a red 1971 Volkswagen convertible with a black top. [1] The cover suffered from major engine trouble and was very unreliable. Ginny was barely able to get it to the Packanack Lodge Counselor Training Center. Her boyfriend (and boss) Paul Holt offered to help look at her car engine. While Paul was nose deep into the back of the vehicle, Ginny gunned the ignition, sending up a plume of black smoke into Paul's face.

Ginny later used the vehicle when she went out for one last night on the town at the Casino Bar. Paul drove it back with her to Packanack Lodge where it again proved temperamental. When masked serial killer Jason Voorhees began chasing after her, she tried locking herself inside the car. Armed with a pitchfork, Jason began poking through the fabric top of the car, forcing Ginny to abandon it. [2]
