Gigorans are a fictional alien race featured in the Star Wars multimedia franchise. They first appeared in Star Wars Adventure Journal #4, published by West End Games in 1994 in the article "It's a Gambler's Life" by Anthony P. Russo. They became a part of canon continuity in 2014 in the iOS game Star Wars Commander. One Gigoran made an appearance in the 2016 film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Description[]
Gigorans are large non-human bipeds with thick white hair that covers their entire body. They stand approximately 7'0" tall. [1] Gigorans were exceptionally strong and could carry heavy ordnance and weaponry into battle with full effectiveness. [2]
History[]
A Gigoran named Moroff worked as a mercenary and was associated with fringe elements of the Alliance to Restore the Republic in the early days of the Galactic Civil War. He worked in the employ of Saw Gerrera, who was based on the planet Jedha. Moroff was one of several of Gerrera's agents who brought the defecting Imperial cargo pilot Bodhi Rook before him for questioning. Moroff presumably died when Grand Moff Tarkin targeted Jedha City with the super-laser from the Empire's newest weapon, the Death Star. [3]
Notes & Trivia[]
- Welsh actor and stuntman Ian Whyte portrayed Moroff in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
