Gideon Peale is a fictional business owner and a minor character featured on the 1966-1968 live-action Batman television series. Played by actor Damian O'Flynn, he appeared in the pilot episode of the show, "Hi Diddle Riddle".
Biography[]
Gideon Peale was the owner of an art gallery in Gotham City. The Riddler pretended to rob the gallery, going so far as to give the appearance of holding Gideon Peale at gunpoint. However, he was actually just lighting Gideon's cigarette with a gun-shaped cigarette lighter.
Batman and Robin smashed their way into the gallery under the pretense of rescuing Gideon. They apprehended the Riddler, who then explained the situation and promptly sued them for wrongful arrest.
