"Masterstroke!" is the title to the first story featured in the second issue of the Giant-Size Spider-Man comic book series published by Marvel Comics. The story was written by Len Wein with artwork by Ross Andru and inks by Al Milgrom. It was colored by Glynis Wein and lettered by John Costanza. The story was edited by Roy Thomas. The second feature is a reprint story called "...To Become an Avenger!", which was written and edited by Stan Lee with artwork by John Romita, Don Heck and Mike Esposito. This issue shipped with an October, 1974 cover date and carries a cover price of .50 cents per copy.
The character of Spider-Man was created by writer Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko. He first appeared in Amazing Fantasy #15 in August, 1962 in a story titled "Spider-Man!" The character has since gone on to become one of the most well-known and enduring super-heroes of all time, having appeared in numerous comic book titles, as well as feature films, animated projects and video games.
