"Where Lurks Death... Ride the Four Horsemen!" is the title to the main story featured in the third issue the Giant-Size Fantastic Four quarterly series published by Marvel Comics . It was written by Marv Wolfman and co-plotted by Gerry Conway with artwork by Rich Buckler and inks by Joe Sinnott . It was colored by Stan Goldberg and lettered by Joe Rosen . The story was edited by Roy Thomas . The second feature is a reprint tale called "The Hate-Monger" by Stan Lee & Jack Kirby with coloring by George Bell and lettering by Artie Simek and Sam Rosen . This issue shipped with a November, 1974 cover date and carries a cover price of .50 cents per copy.

According to Comic Reader #109, this issue shipped to retailers on August 20th , 1974 .
The Fantastic Four were created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby . They first appeared in Fantastic Four , Volume 1 #1 in November, 1961 . By and large, the roster of the Fantastic Four has remained the same over the years, consisting of Reed Richards as Mister Fantastic , Susan Storm as the Invisible Woman , Johnny Storm as the Human Torch and Ben Grimm as the ever-lovin' blue-eyed Thing . Occasional transitory members of the FF have included Crystal Amaquelin , Luke Cage , Scott Lang , and T'Challa .
"Where Lurks Death... Ride the Four Horsemen!" is reprinted in the Fantastic Four Epic Collection: The Crusader Syndrome trade paperback collection from August, 2023 .
"The Hate-Monger!" was originally printed in Fantastic Four #21 .
This issue was released in between Fantastic Four #154 and Fantastic Four #155 .
This issue establishes that Susan Richards is resting at a ranch in Pennsylvania owned by family friends Bob and Carol Linders.
